International Credential Evaluation
All applicants who have completed post-secondary education outside of Canada are subject to a credential evaluation to determine the Canadian equivalency of the credential and to verify academic documentation submitted.
Applicants must provide:
- an official comprehensive (course-by-course) credential evaluation report from a provincially-mandated evaluation agency along with unofficial copies of their credentials (transcripts and diploma/degree certificates); or,
- an additional credential evaluation fee in order to have their credentials (official* transcripts and diploma/degree certificates) evaluated by Royal Roads University. Verification of international credentials may include but is not limited to contacting institutions and/or individuals who submitted a reference on behalf of the applicant.
Should you choose to have RRU conduct the evaluation of your credentials, please note that our evaluations are for internal purposes only, and that we do not produce copies of this report to applicants or third parties. If you require a formal credential evaluation for purposes other than admission to RRU, we strongly encourage you to consider using one of the provincially-mandated credential evaluation agencies listed below.
Recognized Credential Evaluation Services
Royal Roads University will accept official evaluation reports only from the following provincially mandated credential evaluation services:
- ICES: International Credential Evaluation Service, BC ("Comprehensive Report")
- WES: World Education Services Canada, ON ("Course-by-Course Report")
*In order to be considered official, transcripts and other documents must be sent directly from an authorized office within the issuing institution to Royal Roads University or by the student provided the documents are in the original sealed (unopened) envelope.
