On-campus (12 months)

This program option is for those who wish to complete the required 60 credit hours of university studies in just one year. It allows for full-time study at Royal Roads University starting in September and finishing the following August. Students take five classes simultaneously with a short break between four terms (for more details please review the schedule and the course descriptions).

The BA Justice Studies students will experience a variety of learning methodologies such as lectures, self-reflection, independent study, class-wide discussions, team projects, team discussions, presentations, exercises in communication, mediation, and an applied research project.

The program supports skills required in the justice service field such as:

Workload

Generally, a 3-credit course involves 33 hours in class with the instructor over the length of the course. Normally, class time is between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday; however, there are times when classes may be held outside these hours. Team meetings, homework, and readings are done outside of these hours and generally amount to 6 hours per week for each 3-credit course.
