The Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Tourism program fosters a regional, domestic and international appreciation for, and comprehensive grounding in current issues, research and case studies.
The Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Tourism offers:
- Enhanced skills and abilities in the role of tourism and hospitality leaders in organizations, communities, and in the industry at large
- Advanced knowledge and expertise in the areas of sustainable tourism management, stewardship in a global economy and in the management of protected areas and assets
- Specialized knowledge, leading-edge theory, applied research, and the experience of working with industry leaders and organizations
- An opportunity for students to challenge their traditional assumptions and industry behaviour to reach innovative solutions
Successful program graduates will be eligible to apply for advanced standing in the MA in Tourism Management. A portion of the tuition is waived.
Who it’s for
Those in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors as well as volunteers whose portfolio includes tourism. Participants are typically business owners, educators, destination marketers, urban planners, economic developers, government and industry association employees.
