This leading edge graduate program is the first of its kind in Canada’s tourism and hospitality education system. It responds to the worldwide demand for tourism and hospitality leaders to build and sustain a competitive advantage in the global tourism market. Timely and relevant program content has been designed in collaboration with industry experts, students, faculty and education partners. Students gain skills in leadership, sustainable tourism, destination development, international hotel and resort management, and applied research.
The MA in Tourism incorporates the content of the Graduate Certificate in Tourism Leadership, plus a choice of two of the three Graduate Certificates in Sustainable Tourism, Destination Development and International Hotel and Resort Management. The degree finishes with the Applied Research Module, ensuring learning outcomes are harmonized for the MA in Tourism Management.

Who it’s for
Managers, owners and executives in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors who want to increase their competency as managers in the tourism and hospitality industry. Typically, students have a minimum of five years experience in the industry. More

Graduates of this program will have a broad range of applied technical, interpersonal, analytical and communication skills in tourism leadership. The program prepares tourism and hospitality professionals to excel and lead in a complex, involving and competitive industry. More
