Executive Coaching is an emerging profession, both within organizations where coaches enhance the leadership capacities of key staff and managers, and externally, where coaches work with business leaders.
Royal Roads University's Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching program is an Accredited Coach Training Program through the International Coach Federation (ICF). Upon successful completion, graduates receive the Certified Executive Coach designation and are encouraged to pursue professional certification through ICF. Alternatively, successful graduates are eligible for 100 points towards their recertification of the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) Designation.
Successful graduates may apply for advanced standing in our MBA programs. A portion of the MBA tuition is waived.
Who it’s for
Senior managers and other individuals who are directly responsible for organizational executive coaching activities. Candidates are typically professionals with a minimum of three to five years related experience who wish to enhance their strategic coaching skills.
Outcomes
Graduates of the program will have the ability to:
- Meet ICF competencies and ethical guidelines
- Adapt their style of leadership to coaching
- Advance communication and organizational leadership skills
- Understand the complexities of organizations and the benefits of executive coaching
- Recognize symptoms, problems and causes of organizational ineffectiveness
- Identify the elements required to manage an individual’s progress against established goals
- Clearly communicate the distinction between coaching and other support professions (therapy, counseling, consulting, mentoring).
