The BA in International Hotel Management is a leading edge program that builds professional credentials and advances careers in the hospitality sector of the tourism industry. Designed with ongoing input from hospitality leaders, hoteliers and college program educators, this dynamic program aims to develop a broad range of technical, communication, analytical and interpersonal skills and provide a firm grounding in hospitality management. Students will receive broad training in tourism, social-cultural issues, economics, marketing, business, and legal and government regulations. The program is a blend of professional and academic study about the hospitality industry within an international context and an internship program that provides an opportunity to practice new skills and apply new knowledge.

With the intensive on campus program, students can complete 60 credits in just 12 months. Alternatively, the program is delivered online over two years for those wishing to remain in full time employment while finishing their studies.

Who it’s for
Those who have completed at least two years of appropriate post-secondary education (or equivalent) and who bring certain analytical skills, knowledge and awareness of hospitality management issues. More

Outcomes
Graduates will increase their ability to analyze problems, recognize the interrelated complexity of hospitality operations within a global context and apply problem solving skills particular to hospitality management issues. Specific learning outcomes for this program are:

  • Knowledge, skills and experience through individual and team based activities within a multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to succeed in key areas of hotel operations
  • Entrepreneurship and knowledge about managing the triple bottom line of a tourism operation
  • Critical thinking, writing, analytical and decision-making skills
