Sustainable development is the human imperative of the 21st century, requiring fundamental changes in the way we do business, the way we make decisions, and the way we govern ourselves.

The Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Community Development responds to the growing need for leaders in our communities who excel at understanding and leading sustainable development. This six-month interdisciplinary graduate program builds a foundation of best practices for sustainability and community engagement. The program focuses on developing leadership skills to integrate the economic, social and environmental capacities of developing sustainable communities.

Royal Roads University is a leader in delivering relevant, applied and professional programs that align with our faculty’s advanced research, including Dr. Ann Dale’s current research related to sustainable community development. Dr. Dale is a Royal Roads University professor, Canada Research Chair in Sustainable Community Development and a Trudeau Foundation research fellow.
