Graduate Diploma in Environmental Education and Communication

This program is laddered, which allows individuals to complete a Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, or full Master's degree.
A Graduate Certificate is awarded upon successful completion of a residency and one distance-based semester (approximately five months).
A Graduate Diploma is awarded upon successful completion of two residences and two distance-based semesters (approximately one year).

The Graduate Diploma (ENVEDCO-DIP) in Environmental Education and Communication is a leadership program that focuses on developing the competency and skill of educators and communicators who have an interest in, or responsibility for presenting environmental information to audiences.
This interdisciplinary program builds theoretical and practical knowledge and skills as well as strengthens student’s understanding of environmental studies and sustainability, learning theory, environmental education, educational program development, philosophical and cultural analysis, journalism and communications.
The program complements, and builds on expertise in related degree programs at Royal Roads University in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Conflict Resolution, Leadership and Training, and Distributed Learning.

Educators and communicators who have an interest in, or responsibility for presenting environmental information to audiences. Typically, students are engaged in occupations ranging from teachers, educators and journalists to communication professionals, public relations specialists, government policy analysts and non-governmental organization program developers.
