The School of Tourism and Hospitality Management is now offering the Graduate Certificate in Destination Development program delivered in Vancouver. There has never been a more important time, in the wake of the successful Olympic Games, to take a critical look at destinations and how we develop them. Taught by leading experts in this field, including our new adjunct professor, Rod Harris, along with Dr Brian White and Geoffrey Bird, and hosted at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, this is an opportunity like no other. The Graduate Certificate in Destination Development program focuses on the foundations for destination planning and branding, strategic marketing, e-marketing, product innovation and niche market development. The program examines critical issues and opportunities facing individuals and organizations in developing tourism destinations.
Successful program graduates will be eligible to apply for advanced standing in the MA in Tourism Management. A portion of the tuition is waived.

Applicants who do not have the formal academic education to qualify for admission may be assessed on the basis of both their formal education and their informal learning, in accordance with the Flexible Admission Policy.
