Trevor Hurst is an innovative technology leader and industry expert known as a visionary throughout the public sector. With more than 25 years’ information technology experience, Hurst has successfully delivered hundreds of technology-enabled initiatives for large corporations in the oil and gas, utilities, financial services, manufacturing and government sectors. Hurst is a specialist in unifying technology, human capital and business processes into cohesive building blocks that deliver significant stakeholder value.

Experience

Hurst is currently the chief information officer and executive director for the British Columbia Ministry of Advanced Education Skills and Training. In this role he is responsible for the development and support of digital services for all ministry programs, such as Student Financial Aid, Education Quality Assurance, and Private Training Institutions Branch. Hurst also works closely with 25 public post-secondary institutions to develop various corporate enablers as well as sector-wide digital initiatives, such as Education Planner BC. Beyond public sector, Hurst has experience as a technology management consultant, enterprise architect, program/project manager, and infrastructure specialist for several large corporations throughout Western Canada. In particular Hurst has a significant experience in organizational change management and technology transformation, with special focus on cloud computing.

Hurst also has several industry certifications relating to the management of Information Technology in the enterprise.
