Todd Thexton is Director of the School of Business at Royal Roads University. Thexton has taught in areas related to environmental economics and sustainability for the School of Business and the School of Environment and Sustainability and teaches business case planning for climate adaptation in the Master of Arts in Climate Action Leadership program. He is actively involved in designing educational innovations for social and environmental impact. In addition to the scholarship of teaching and learning, Thexton’s main research interest is the evolving role of business and markets in the governance of global social and environmental issues, particularly as it relates to democracy and efficiency.

Experience

Thexton has been a core faculty member in the School of Business since October 2015. He joined Royal Roads University as an associate faculty member in 2008. He has previously lectured in Geopolitics at the École de Management in Grenoble, France. Prior to his career in education, Thexton worked in the public and non-profit sectors in a variety of consulting and leadership roles within the field of health and social services. He credits his community development work with highly marginalized populations with informing his sensitivity and commitment to issues of social sustainability. During his career in healthcare, Thexton made significant contributions to research on housing and homelessness.
