Bio (Leanne Heppell)
Summary of experience
Leanne Heppell is the vice president of patient experience, acute care and chief of professional practice and nursing at Providence Health Care. Leanne brings to her role over 20 years of senior leadership experience, including with Vancouver Coastal Health, Fraser Health and the BC Ambulance Service. Heppell’s achievements include developing strategic, quality improvement and patient safety plans and leading large system cultural transformation with a focus on putting patients and families first.
Heppell is a registered nurse (1982) who holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Victoria (1992), a Master of Science in Nursing as a Clinical Nurse Specialist from the University of British Columbia (1998) and a Master of Arts in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University (2003). Heppell also recently completed a Doctorate of Business Administration at Walden University (2016). For more than 10 years, she has also been an academic supervisor of leadership studies at Royal Roads University.
