Bio (Larry Chung)
School of Tourism and Hospitality
Larry Chung has been involved with post-secondary education since 1994. Teaching full-time since the fall of 2006, his subject areas are management, marketing and operations management. His interests lie in providing real-world examples and experiences to the theoretical situations you find in the classroom. An avid supporter of experiential learning and the co-operative education model, his motivation is that he believes the reward for teaching is hearing about the success of former students. An avid sports enthusiast, Chung has played rugby at an international level and is currently an active masters member of the Gorge Narrows Rowing Club.
Chung has 15 years of experience with The Keg restaurant group in all capacities. Working as a dishwasher, general manager and joint venture partner has given Chung many different perspectives about the business. His time with The Keg had him in Victoria, Burnaby, Vancouver and Seattle. More recently, he was a part owner of Sauce Restaurant in Victoria. Chung is passionate about the hospitality industry.
Chung holds an MBA in Marketing from the University of British Colombia (1977) and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of British Colombia (1975).
