Bio (Gordon Walker)

Gordon Walker has worked in the investment industry for more than 17 years, most recently with a leading Canadian bank where he develops and manages investment policies and strategies for high-net-worth individual, trust and corporate clients so that they can achieve investment goals within acceptable risk parameters. He has also worked for nine years in Japan as an instructor and research editor for several multinational corporations
Walker began his career in the investment industry in 1986 as an account executive trading futures and derivatives, focusing on instruments based on interest rates, currencies and equity indices. He subsequently worked as an adviser to investors in equity and fixed-income markets and as a writer/editor for one of Canada’s leading investment newsletters. He also spent nine years in Tokyo, Japan, as a corporate instructor and editor at the research centres of several Japanese and South Korean multinational firms. For the past 11 years, he has been employed within the wealth management arm of a major Canadian bank where he provides discretionary investment management.
Walker holds a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Toronto (1983) and a Masters of Business Administration in Global Asset & Wealth Management from Simon Fraser University (2004). He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designations.
