Bio (Diana Batts)
Diana Batts is a lawyer, currently in private practice, doing corporate, commercial and intellectual property law. She is passionate about the role of rule of law in developing nations and restoring order post-conflict. She has also taught yoga for more than a decade.
Prior to private practice, Batts worked at the law firm Borden Ladner Gervais in Vancouver. She also worked at an intellectual law firm in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; in the policy division of Citizenship Branch of Citizenship and Immigration and Canada; and in the appeals division of Workers’ Compensation Board of BC.
Batts earned her MSc in Development Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She also holds a LLB from the University of Victoria, and spent one term studying international law and regional organizations at Chulalonghorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. Batts was awarded her BSc (major in mathematics, minor in linguistics) with great distinction from McGill University.
