Bio (Deborah Wickins)

Deborah Wickins has been part of Royal Roads University since 1998. She spent five years as executive director of Royal Roads’ MBA program, designing, launching and delivering the program to all cohorts between 1999 and 2003. After taking time away from Royal Roads to launch her consulting practice, she returned in 2005 to develop and launch the BA and MA programs in International Hotel Management. In her spare time, she is passionate about music, travel, languages, reading and wine. She is studying in her final level of part-time studies to attain certification as a sommelier through the International Sommelier Guild.
Wickins teaches in the BCom, BAIHM and MBA programs at Royal Roads. She developed and delivered MBA programming in Grenoble, France and in Tehran, Iran, and designed the inaugural MA in International Hotel Management residency that was delivered in Dubai, UAE in 2007. She also teaches in the BCom, MBA and MGB programs at the University of Victoria, and consults for businesses in customer service and strategy. She takes on numerous writing and editing projects each year.
Wickins received her MBA from the University of Victoria. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chinese language and literature from the University of Alberta.
