Dawn Rueckl is a career tourism professional with experience in industry, academia and government. She brings to the classroom a passion for tourism and its role in community building, economic development and environmental sustainability. Her research interests include sector development, sustainability and tourism impacts, destination development and visitor-experience development.
Experience
Rueckl has instructed tourism courses for Royal Roads in Canada and China, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. She has extensive tourism industry experience with a focus on travel trade. She now works with the BC Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture focusing on policy development, provincial tourism strategy planning, destination development planning, cross-government consultation and stakeholder communication.
