Barbara Vanderlinden is the principal at View Consulting with more than 20 years of experience in the financial management, accounting and assurance fields. As an independent consultant, she focuses on strategic planning, financial management, and performance reviews and evaluations. She has been involved in teaching for more than 10 years. Since 2001, she has facilitated the Strategic Leadership Program for the Certified Management Accountants of BC and she has been teaching at Royal Roads since 2005 in the School of Business, the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management and Continuing Studies. She teaches at the graduate, post graduate, executive and professional levels for several institutions.
Experience
Prior to Royal Roads, Vanderlinden worked for the Auditor General of British Columbia carrying out financial audits, risk audits and reviews of strategic plans. With View Consulting, she has worked several projects including budget and efficiency reviews; developing a funding model and a communications strategy for government shared services; critiquing a risk assessment model for a crown corporation; and conducting an assessment of internal controls for a manufacturing firm.
Vanderlinden holds a Certified Management Accountant designation, for which she received with the highest mark in B.C. in 2001. She was also awarded her FCMA in 2011.
