President Steenkamp: A kitchen garden at RRU

There is a significant history of food cultivation on these lands. I talk a little about it in my video this week from the Walled Garden, where there was once an extensive 4-acre kitchen garden.

This is something our Royal Roads community has shown great interest in doing again. Can you imagine a large-scale garden with fruit, vegetables and herbs?

Growing food is one action we can take to address a growing hunger and food security problem. It will also help advance our climate action goals and stimulate learning, teaching and research in areas related to food and food insecurity.
