Hodson on COVID misinformation
Misinformation expert Assoc. Prof. Jaigris Hodson joined host Ryan Price on CFAX 1070 to discuss posters hung around the Sunshine Coast and Vancouver Island that are falsely declaring COVID-19 restrictions over.
Here is some of what she had to say:
“Whenever you see a message, whether it’s online, or out in your community, or anywhere else, if that message arouses strong feelings in you – be it hope, be it anger – go try to verify the message. Go to the BCCDC and don’t take any of these COVID messages at face value unless they come from an official medical source. Because we’re just too close to the end now to let misinformation misguide our efforts.”
