Royal Roads University’s first Virtual Open House invites prospective applicants to learn about RRU’s unique student experience while connecting with a diverse range of departments across the university.

The conference-style event happening May 10 to 13 will give prospects, admitted students and others the chance to attend mock classes, learn about student financial aid, study abroad options, program information, online and on-campus delivery options and more.

“Our goal is to meet prospective students where they’re at – both in the academic and physical sense,” says Andrea Torres Lopez, student recruitment manager. “The open house will be flexible, just like our programming, and allow us to virtually connect with students, no matter where they are in the world.”

Registrants can drop in to attend as many sessions as they’d like over the four days and are invited to bring their questions to daily interactive question and answer panels.

Royal Roads President Philip Steenkamp will kick off the event with a welcome address May 10.

In these difficult times, students are looking to upskill or reskill, no matter their age or stage in their careers, Steenkamp says.

“As a forward-looking university, we’ve been online since day one. So we’ve been experts in remote learning long before anyone had even heard of a Zoom meeting,” he says.

“It takes tremendous courage to start something new, put your career on hold or move across the world to pursue your educational dreams. I warmly invite everyone to learn about our small, dynamic community of students, faculty and staff.”
