Energy for all, RRU expert says
Associate Professor Julie MacArthur investigates the political economy of low carbon emissions. As Canada Research Chair, Reimagining Capitalism at Royal Roads, her research focuses on how community-led initiatives can scale up to have transformative impacts. Her unique approach applies a social justice lens to energy systems.
“Democratizing energy includes opening up access to people who have traditionally been excluded from the process of ownership and/or decision making,” McArthur told Douglas Magazine in a recent interview for their Oct./Nov. 2023 issue.
