Christie discusses Beirut explosion on radio

Stack of folded newspapers

Prof. Kenneth Christie spoke to CFAX 1070’s Adam Stirling about the massive explosion that happened in Beirut, Lebanon on August 4.

Here is an excerpt:

“There’s a lot of poverty in Lebanon at the moment, unemployment is about 25 percent in Lebanon; there’s nearly a third of the population below the poverty line. Major hospitals were hit in this explosion and I think they had to close about three of the hospitals so they’re overwhelmed. They’re not only overwhelmed of course with the explosion and the casualties, they are overwhelmed with COVID-19.”

Christie was interviewed on CFAX 1070.
