Changemakers series welcomes Lucy Suchman February 3

Join Royal Roads President Philip Steenkamp Thursday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. PDT as he hosts our Changemakers Speakers Series featuring Lucy Suchman, a professor emerita of Anthropology, Science and Technology at Lancaster University in the UK and former principal scientist at Xerox’s Palo Alto Research Center (PARC). Her talk will cover the myths and realities of Artificial Intelligence now and discuss what its capabilities – and limitations – could mean for us in the future. While discussion about Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a common topic, people tend to speak about it as an inevitable progression in our lives. Suchman offers a different story and asks us why the nature of AI as a project goes largely unquestioned.
