Jackie Scales and Lauryn Oates were 2013 Alumni Award winners.

We’ve honoured a human rights activist, international journalist, diversity champion and police chief. Who will be the next Royal Roads Alumni Awards recipients?

Nominations for the 2014 Alumni Awards are now open through to May 12. There are two categories to celebrate our graduates’ achievements: the Alumni Excellence Award, which recognizes an alumnus who brings meaningful and positive change to their workplace, community or the world, and the Alumni Leadership Award, which recognizes an alumnus who is a significant and successful leader.

The latter award is open to graduates of RRU or the military colleges that pre-dated the creation of Royal Roads in 1995.

Associate Vice-President of Community Relations and Advancement Paul Corns says the Alumni Awards, now in its third year, have highlighted the diverse strengths of Royal Roads graduates.

“Our alumni continue to inspire and connect our campus to positive change in the world,” Corns says.  “It is a community worth celebrating and by recognizing recipients we honour the growing record of achievement emanating from campus.”

This year, the Alumni Awards will coincide with our annual Alumni Homecoming celebrations in September. Events will include an awards reception, at which Alumni Awards recipients will be honoured.
