Pride Week at Royal Roads

Royal Roads University and the RRU Proud Group invite you to celebrate Pride Week with a series of events on and off campus.

Wednesday, July 5 - Pride on Campus | noon to 1:30 p.m. | Top of Neptune Staircase

Join RRU Proud on campus for games, music, food and entertainment. Show your Pride support and drop by for the chance to win some great prizes. Lunch is $5 for a burger, chips and pop.

Thursday, July 6 – Positive Space Network Workshop | 10:00 a.m. to noon | LIC, Centre for Dialogue

Positive Space Network Workshops are facilitated through RRU Proud and are low-risk, interactive workshops that engage participants in discussion around language, culture and assumptions. Participants are introduced to skills and strategies that will help them contribute to the creation of safer and more inclusive environments for all members of the Royal Roads community. At the end of the workshop, participants have the opportunity to join the Positive Space Network and become an RRU Proud Resource Person.

Sunday, July 9 – Victoria Pride Parade | 11:00 a.m. | Pandora & Government to James Bay

Royal Roads University is participating in the annual Victoria Pride Parade. The parade begins at the corner of Pandora and Government, and ends at MacDonald Park at the corner of Oswego and Simcoe. Parade participants of Royal Roads will meet at 10:30 a.m. at the fountain at Centennial Square (view map).

RRU Proud’s fourth annual photo contest runs all summer. Hashtag #RRUProud and #RRUStudentServices to your Facebook posts to participate. Contest draws will be held July 20, August 15 and September 20.

RRU Proud is a network of Royal Roads University students, faculty and staff who come together to create a safe and inclusive community for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Two-Spirit, Queer & Questioning (LGBTTQQ) members of the Royal Roads community.
