A day of beauty, fun and family for mom
Celebrate mothers and families amongst the beauty of Hatley Park and its gardens. Join us for the 23rd Royal Roads University Mother’s Day Paint-in and Craft Fair on Sunday, May 13, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This festival for the community includes family entertainment, main-stage performances, children’s crafts, local artisans and vendors as well as historical displays inside Hatley Castle. Plein air painters will be scattered throughout the historic gardens, capturing the special magic of this place.
Royal Roads is delighted to celebrate mothers, families, neighbours and art at this fun-filled community event,” says Katharine Harrold, Vice-President, Communications and Advancement for Royal Roads University. “We hope families from the West Shore and beyond join us for a beautiful day in the gardens.”
Arts and entertainment for the day, including performances on both the main stage and in the kids zone, are sponsored by the West Shore Arts Council.
“It is such a pleasure to bring arts engagement to this community event,” says West Shore Arts Council President Laura Davis. “What a beautiful backdrop to come together and celebrate Mother's Day."
The craft fair will include arts and crafts of all kinds. Artisan and vendor registration is open until May 9; please register here.
Royal Roads is an ideal setting for a picnic. Families are welcome to bring food from home or purchase a delicious meal or snack on site.
Admission is free and parking is complementary. The university encourages families to consider walking or cycling to Hatley Park along the Galloping Goose Regional Trail.
Royal Roads University thanks the Ocean 98.5 FM, exclusive media sponsor for the Mother’s Day Paint-In and Craft Fair, as well as its community sponsors Island Tents & Events, Old Victoria Water Company and Truffles Catering.
