'Urbanized' songbirds adapting

Songbirds adapt to urban living by increasing density in small protected areas and managed greenspaces, according to Royal Roads MSc in Environment and Management student Christopher Stephens.

Stephens conducted his masters’ research in two large forest areas and two small forest areas near Parksville, B.C. to determine the effect of forest size on bird populations and to help park managers, builders and community planners make bird-friendly and ecosystem-friendly choices.
