Student contests provide valuable business lessons
Business case competitions bridge the classroom with the boardroom, allowing students a chance to apply what they have learned to real situations. For Royal Roads BCom student Katrina Crawshaw , who recently competed in Montreal at the John Molson MBA International Case Competition, “It was high stress but the takeaway is being able to think on your feet, learning that it’s not all about studying and memorization but about being able to think and answer in the spur of the moment,” she says.
Crawshaw is an assistant coach for the Royal Roads team when the university hosts its own case competition, the Royal Roads University International Undergraduate Case Competition, April 3-5.
