“There is evidence, over years, if the gas prices remain high for three or four years, then people do start making decisions that change the way they live their lives as a result of that. The usual one is when people move house or move their employment will make decisions based on the proximity that they can live to that employment or buying houses in places that are more convenient to them. Part of the problem that we have in many cities of North America, is that they are designed around the idea that gas is cheap and it is cheap to get around. So in the short term it can be painful, but we soon adjust. “
