Hodson: Predicting Trump’s win through social media analysis
College of Interdisciplinary Studies Assistant Prof. and Program Head Jaigris Hodson was interviewed by Mark Brennae on CFAX Radio The Drive about how she predicted Donald Trump’s U.S. election win based on analysis of his social media.
Here is an excerpt:
“From July, I have a written record of me saying to a colleague of mine, ‘Trump is going to take this because his message is clear, it’s simple, it’s very evocative’ and Hillary was just not having the same type of message,”’ says Hodson. “It was not playing well, it was very complex, she was trying as a good politician would, to take these complex issues and communicate them but it was just not playing on platforms like Twitter.”

Hodson was also interviewed on CBC Radio All Points West about the same topic.
