School of Humanitarian Studies Prof. Ken Christie was interviewed by Mark Brennae on CFAX Radio’s The Drive program about the implications of the attempted coup in Turkey July 15.

Here is an excerpt from the interview:

“I think there is a lot of confusion amongst the coup plotters,” says Christie. “I’m not sure if they were 100 per cent sure in their purpose or vision or how much support they had because the coup seems to have failed comparatively easily. After eight hours Erdogan was back in the driving seat. There was no real risk to the major players within the government.”
