China has the resiliency to weather its stock-market storm
School of Business associate faculty member Hugh Stephens and senior fellow at the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada Yves Tiberghien co-wrote an opinion-editorial which was published in The Globe and Mail Jan. 9 about China’s stock market.
“This week’s meltdown in China has generated understandable concern,” say Stephens and Tiberghien.
“The world’s second-largest economy faces significant market turmoil: Should we be concerned? Yes. Should we panic? No, although there is a risk that panicky behaviour could spread to markets outside China.”
