Before joining Royal Roads in 1996 Tony Boydell had extensive public and private sector experience. He began his career as a research scientist in the Geological Survey of Canada and specialized in permafrost processes, terrain inventory and satellite remote sensing.
He then worked for the British Columbia government and was appointed Regional Director General for Environment Canada in the Pacific and Yukon Region in 1982.
In 1989, Boydell began consulting for the government of British Columbia and The Round Table on Environment and Economy. In 1991, he was named vice-president of J.D. Tait and Associates, a company engaged in land and community development.
Boydell is chair of the Canadian Council of University Environmental Science Program Heads and was appointed to the Board of Directors of ECO Canada, an agency that provides training and professional development to Canada’s Environmental professionals. He is a member of the National Steering Committee for Labour Market Information Study and the World Conservation Learning Network.
