Brigham joined the Centre for Non-Timber Resources (now called the Centre for Livelihoods and Ecology) at Royal Roads University in 2004, leading curriculum development and instructing in online non-timber forest product (NTFP) courses. He has a long history consulting on NTFP projects in Canada and abroad, including a project focused on the sustainable development of NTFPs in Aboriginal communities in the Russian Far East. His master’s thesis focused on the role of tree products in Zimbabwe.
He has written or contributed to a number of guidebooks, manuals and reports connected to the NTFP sector, including: Goods From The Woods: A Handbook for Developing Your Non-Timber Forest Products Business; A Guide to Agroforestry in British Columbia; Good practices for plant identification for the herbal industry; and NTFP Education and Capacity Building for Southern Interior First Nations.
