Graham Dickson was the founding director of the Centre for Health Leadership and Research at Royal Roads University before retiring and becoming a professor emeritus of leadership in the Faculty of Social and Applied Sciences. His expertise is in identifying and implementing leadership capacity within large organizations. He has taught in health leadership programs that focus on the centrality of character in effective leadership, leading through teamwork, and how to apply systems thinking and strategic leadership to transform large health organizations.
 
Dickson has served on the board of the Capital Health Region in Victoria, the Victoria Hospital Foundation, and the Physician Assistants Certification Council of Canada.  He has worked closely with senior health leaders in B.C. and Canada.   Applying leadership concepts to health system change led to the development of the Centre for Health Leadership and Research.

Dickson assisted in setting up the BC Leaders for Life program, a leadership and succession planning initiative for the B.C. health sector. He is also on the Board of the BC Leadership and Management Institute, a consortium of Royal Roads University, the University of Victoria and Camosun College that was established to design and deliver the Leading the Way Program to B.C. managers in the civil service. 

Dickson assisted the Ministry of Health Services in BC in conducting learning sessions for provincial care providers, patients, and community members who are implementing Integrated Health Networks in British Columbia.
