The supportive nature of the program provided a network of learning partners.

“In order to continue to serve and successfully navigate the challenges and complexities I experienced in my health care career, I felt that I needed to learn new skills and to strengthen my leadership knowledge and capabilities.

The Master of Arts in Leadership at Royal Roads University appealed to me for a variety of reasons: the flexible admission policy, the blended format of the programs that combined online course work and in-person residencies fit my life. The collaborative design of RRU’s experiential learning models aligned with my learning preferences and lifestyle, and enabled me to learn with some very extra-ordinary people and faculty. Royal Roads’ history as a military educational institution and the spectacular location with the beautiful gardens captured my heart and appreciation for nature. I looked forward to my time away at Royal Roads, as it was a feast for my heart, mind and soul.

Learning to embrace the motto of ‘trust the process’ was challenging. RRU provided the ability to see things in a different light, through varied experiences that support deep internal work, which expanded my thinking beyond my normal boundaries. Learning to trust the process and lean on others was integral to moving forward, and leading into the unknown.”
