Royal Roads University is pleased to collaborate with China Daily and our esteemed colleagues and friends at AKD International Inc. – Dr. Francis Pang, Chairman of the Beijing Concord College of Sino-Canada, Shenzhen (Nanshan) Concord College of Sino-Canada, Canadian International School of Beijing, and International School of Sino-Canada and Executive Director, Andy Truong in presenting Focus on China 1949 – 2009 - a photography exhibit that shines a light on the people of China during a period of profound change. The images, captured by more than 200 of the country’s premier photographers, are of ordinary people living in an extraordinary time.

Opening Ceremony

This exhibit offers our students a unique learning opportunity to see the people of China from a different perspective and engage in a dialogue with members of our community. Our hope is to gain a greater understanding of this country, its people and this remarkable period in history.

Focus on China 1949 – 2009 is presented by China Daily, AKD International Inc and Royal Roads University, with the generous support of Canadian Royalbridge Education Group Inc.

This is the fifth in a series of photography collections produced by the China Daily. This exhibit will be shown in New York, Washington DC, Toronto, Waterloo, Fredericton and at Royal Roads University in Victoria, British Columbia.
