BCom 2002-2003 Alumni Bursary
The 2002-2003 Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management program alumni established this bursary. Their Venture Challenge successes made it possible for them to endow a fund that generates interest to offer bursaries in perpetuity to commerce students at Royal Roads University.
The Beadle Family Award
The Beadle Family has made a strong commitment to Royal Roads University and its students, demonstrated in part through the creation of the Beadle Family Award. This annual award willl recognize an outstanding RRU student undertaking a BA or MA program in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management.
BMO Bank of Montreal Bachelor of Commerce Scholarship
This scholarship has been made available by the generous donation of BMO Bank of Montreal. BMO Bank of Montreal is dedicated to the advancement of community involvement and personal leadership qualities. It awards scholarships and bursaries annually to worthy students at B.C. post-secondary institutions.
Bachelor of Science (BSc) Environmental Science Alumni Award
The award will be granted to the student who has best exemplified team building skills, has the greatest financial need, and who actively demonstrated leadership and/or organization of on-campus environmental initiatives. These criteria together honour the spirit and purpose of amalgamated funds: Charter Environmental Science Class of '97, BSc Class of '98, BSc 2000-01 and BSc 2001-02.
Charlton L. Smith Bursary
The generousity of the Charlton L. Smith Foundation has made this fund possible. Charlton L. Smith was a Victoria native who worked for both the Hudson's Bay Company and National Motors, after which started the Credit Bureau in Victoria, which became his life's career. Charlton L. Smith had no children; his legacy helps people in Victoria in the sports and education communities through the Charlton L. Smith Foundation. The fund provides one or more awards to learners in the School of Business. Students eligible for the award recognize their need for further education in order to progress in their careers.
Chartered Accountants of BC Education Foundation Scholarship
Awarded to an accounting (BCom) student completing the third year of the degree program, maintaining at least a B average in accounting courses over the previous two semesters and expressing intention to enter the CA program.
Gwen Lock MA in Leadership Scholarship
This award was established by Gwen Lock, a lifelong student, public servant, MA alumni and associate faculty of Royal Roads University. The scholarship is for a provincial public service MA learner who is committed to pursuing leadership studies that can “make a difference’ in the public service. Applicants must be a second year MA in Leadership public sector learner who can articulate how they will specifically (a) apply their leadership role, (b) leadership learning, and (c) “make a difference” in the public sector.
Horta Cerf Bursary
The Horta Cerf Bursary, established by The Royal Roads University Foundation with funds from the 2008 International Forum on Online Dispute Resolution, aims to provide financial support to students in the Justice Studies program in recognition that an education and career in civil service may come with sacrifice. Qualified applicants will be able to demonstrate financial need and have satisfactorily completed 21 credits by the application deadline.
Kaiser Foundation for Higher Education Bursary
This bursary has been made available by the generous donation of the Kaiser Foundation for Higher Education, an organization committed to helping students succeed in their post-secondary studies. The bursary is granted to a part- or full-time student who demonstrates financial need and is enrolled in either a Bachelor of Science program or is a professional engineer enrolled in the MA in Science/MA in Environment and Management program at Royal Roads University. Recipients may be residents of any province or territory in Canada and must qualify as entitled to the Canadian Resident Tuition Fee Structure.
Legge Family Bursary
The Legge family and Canada Wide Media Ltd. have made a strong commitment to Royal Roads University and its students, demonstrated in part through the creation of The Peter Legge Family Bursary. One or more bursaries will be awarded to students enrolled in the School of Business or School of Communications at Royal Roads University who can demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to RRU students who are employees of Canada Wide Magazines and Communications, or members of the immediate family of Canada Wide Media Ltd. employees.
MBA – Educational Administrator’s Bursary
This bursary established by the inaugural cohort of the MBA in Executive Management for Educational Adminsitators will be made available to a student enrolled in their second year of a MBA program at Royal Roads University.
MBA 2000 Award
Established by the MBA Class of 2000, this award continues to receive support from MBA students and associate faculty members and is made available to a learner enrolled in an MBA program at Royal Roads University. The successful candidate will demonstrate strength in leadership, sustainability, and/or personal development, as well as financial need and academic achievement in the program.
Project Management Institute VI Award
The Project Management Institute (PMI VI) Award was established by the Vancouver Island Chapter of the Project Management Institute to recognize project management students at Royal Roads University. PMI VI is dedicated to the advancement of project management in the workplace and community, focused on the needs of project management professionals on Vancouver Island. Recipients will be offered a one year registration to PMI and PMI VI and must allow his/her name to be posted on the PMI VI website.
Royal Roads University Staff Scholarship Fund
The Royal Roads University Staff Scholarship fund was established in 2001 by staff and faculty in order to reward students who demonstrate a high level of academic and/or community achievement. In addition to supporting future students at the university, participation by staff and faculty provides a strong indication to prospective external donors that the University community believes in Royal Roads University's mission.
Tournament of Aces Bursary
Royal Roads University Foundation started the Tournament of Aces golf event in 2000 to raise funds for bursaries. We thank the many sponsors of this event for their participation in raising much needed educational bursaries for single parents. The endowed Tournament of Aces fund now generates revenue for annual bursaries in perpetuity. Applicant selection for this bursary is based on financial need and must be full time in any graduate or undergraduate program.
Victoria Foundation Chinese-Canadian Community Bursary
Through the request of an anonymous donor, The Victoria Foundation worked in partnership with the Royal Roads University Foundation to establish the Victoria Foundation Chinese-Canadian Community Bursary. Qualified applicants will be able to demonstrate financial need and be Canadian citizens of Chinese origin. Preference will be given to BC residents.
Victoria Foundation Ruth Elina Carlson Bursary
Through the request of the late Ruth Elina Carlson, The Victoria Foundation worked in partnership with the Royal Roads University Foundation to establish the Victoria Foundation Ruth Elina Carlson Bursary. Qualified applicants will be able to demonstrate financial need and must have maintained a satisfactory academic standing. Preference will be given to BC residents.
