The Food Bank is a valuable resource for students who need a little helping hand for a short time. Our capacity to meet current demand is limited, so we greatly appreciate non-perishable donations from our community.

The most needed items are:

  • Canned Meats and fish (tuna, chicken, salmon)
  • Canned fruits, canned vegetables and soup
  • Peanut butter
  • Crackers
  • Cereal
  • Rice (we can divide large bags into smaller portions)
  • Pasta and pasta sauce
  • Honey
  • Granola bars
  • Personal hygiene products

The RRU Food Bank is located in a locked cabinet at the base of the staircase closest to the reception counter in the Learning and Innovation Centre (LIC). A red plastic tote outside the Food Bank cupboard is ready to receive food donations.

If you have a little left on your Habitat card or would prefer to donate cash, please drop it off in one of the donation boxes at Habitat Café, Campus Reception (LIC) or directly to the Student Success Team in the Library. Our team is combining the small sums left on Habitat cards into more meaningful amounts—enough for a struggling student to buy breakfast or lunch. We’ll use cash donations to purchase portion-able items at bulk prices.

Thank you for your help!
