Career Enhancement & WIL are coming together!
Career Enhancement and Work Integrated Learning (WIL), two areas that have operated as separate units within Student Services, are combining to become one integrated support unit (that is still to be formally named). Natasha Dilay, who joined Royal Roads as our Employer Liaison in 2012, and then became the Manager of WIL in 2015, has taken-on the new responsibility of providing leadership and oversight to both WIL and Career Enhancement. Natasha has significant experience in both vocational counselling and employer relations, as well as in developing and leading teams to success.
As many know, Chris Brown has been managing the one-person unit of Career Enhancement Services for over fifteen years, offering career enhancement support to prospects, students and alumni. Chris has a wealth of experience in public service and private consulting in the areas of vocational counselling and career planning. He will remain the lead for Career support and will work together with Natasha to build out these services. The alignment of these services will allow us to effectively track and intentionally plan student career support from the stage of prospective student to active student, intern and alumnus.
Stay tuned for more information about this newly combined unit - including a new name announcement! This change follows the intentional grouping of other service areas within Student Services including Student Success (which includes Accessibility Services, Financial Aid and Awards, and Student Counselling) and Student Engagement (which includes New Student Orientation, International Student Support, the Recreation Centre, Student Activities and Student Conduct).
