MGMT563: International Law and Global Trade Organizations

Course Description

Focuses on the nature and scope of International Law: where, when and how it applies. Explores the legal framework in relation to individuals, multi-national enterprises (profit & non-profit), trade in goods, services and labour, and intellectual property. Critically examines the roles in trade of organisations such as the World Trade Organisation (WTO), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the World Bank and non-governmental organisations (NGOs). Explores how to exploit commercial opportunities in global organisations. Facilitates an understanding of the use and limitations of international dispute settlement options.
