Human Resource Issues and Practices

Course Description:

IHMN 455: Examines human resource management concepts within the hotel and resort workplace including labour market issues and employee recruitment and retention. HR management strategies that contribute to the competitive advantage are analyzed; skills and professional attitudes in organizing the workforce are discussed and the importance of innovation, team building, human relations and motivational techniques, negotiation skills and conflict management approaches are examined.     (3 credits)
