Developing an Environmentally Sustainable Perspective

Course Description:

ENVP 500: In this course the student will be exposed to a number of different perspectives on environmental sustainability that will establish the overall philosophical orientation of the program.  Within the triple bottom line framework, the course will explore the tensions that exist between our various value systems and how they help to determine attitudes towards the environment.  All of this ‘information’ will help each student to better define for him or herself what environmentally sustainable development means, and why it is such an important concept today.      (3 credits)
