When No One Knows the Answer!  Practical Ways To Engage In Complex Times of Change [a 1 hour alumni-focused session]

What change is the world asking of you?
What would prepare you to meet future challenges and needs?

These days, many of us have the experience of working harder and feeling like much of our hard work had little or no impact. We run the risk of repeating the same patterns and it can be frustrating to see a lack of improvement. This interactive session is an opportunity to explore when:

  • No one individual “knows the answer,” to important challenges,
  • You are “on your edge” and out of your comfort zone, and
  • You are called on to create conditions for breakthrough thinking and creative action

This learning opportunity is intended to ground and guide you in real life challenges you are facing NOW.

We will:

  • Start from the issues that most matter to you
  • Apply various ways of relating to your situation
  • Engage in frank and open exchanges with colleagues
  • See your habitual approach in action
  • Gain access to a wider range of approaches that you can bring to your unique circumstance.

This two hour highly experiential session will use a number of methods of inquiry and should give alumni a taste of things to come -- namely a post graduate certificate in Continuing Studies launching in 2010 in partnership with the Ginger Group collective, called Foundations for Innovation and Transformation.

Facilitators: Diana Smith and Michael Keller foster systemic change and generative leadership with a strong focus on engaging "the whole person," and "the whole system". Michael and Diana are members of the Ginger Group Collective, a group of innovative thinkers and educators that help move people from an orientation of problem-solving to one of creativity, insight and breakthrough and they do this all across North America. Ginger Group partners with groups, organizations and communities to create the conditions for transformational change using leading-edge methods that foster learning within the whole system - individuals, team, organization and community – and help create conditions for enduring change.
