Aligned with the competencies found in the curricular design of the degree programs in the School of Environment and Sustainability at Royal Roads University, the Continuing Studies Ecological Literacy Certificate includes a comprehensive and experiential suite of short, non-credit courses designed to broaden our understanding and development of; collaboration and communication, trans-disciplinary ways of knowing and place-based learning, systems thinking, social, personal, and environmental responsibility, stewardship; relationship and community-building, design and creativity. This certificate is enhanced by numerous learning partnerships outside of the university to bring the freshest, best thinking in the field to the learner in addition to a wider range of resources.
We recognize that one size does not fit all and that the most meritorious form of learning – that which may hold the most relevance to our lives and work – may come with crossover into areas that exist outside of these specific bands or horizontally along the different levels of the certificate competencies. NOTE: Any of the courses that you see listed here and in the electives columns, may be substituted where appropriate, in consultation with and approval from the Director (or designate) of Continuing Studies.
Let us help you customize your certificate to correspond with your current professional and personal needs, and accomplish your learning objectives while successfully fulfilling the requirements of the program.
