No musical experience required! In a few seconds you will be part of a group, sounding good, drumming away the doldrums of winter! Drumming helps us to think with our whole bodies instead of just our minds and to connect to a deeper intuitive sense of the non-verbal. Without talking, by listening and acting on cues that we may often miss in standard conversation, we will create music together. Based on the notion that many simple parts can come together to form a complex and rich patterns (harmonies), African drumming is poly-rhythmic in that it exemplifies the notion of the whole being greater than the sum of all its parts. You will leave feeling refreshed, empowered, and engaged plus you will have had fun! Authentic drums will be provided.
