The Recruiters Start the Year Off Running
After a month of planning and Christmas holidays, I cannot wait to get on the road again. We have a busy schedule ahead of us in 2010. The first trip is a 29 day Ontario trip from January 17 to February 14 which includes visits to Sheridan College, Humber College, Seneca College, Georgian College Fanshawe College, as well as the 2010 CANNEXUS Conference in Ottawa, HRPA 2010 Conference in Toronto and the FCM Sustainable Communities Conference in Ottawa. We are also hosting information sessions in both Toronto and Ottawa. It is going to be a very busy, but exciting trip!
The temperature was around -25 Celsius in Toronto when we were there last January. It’s a good thing I like winter more than summer. I guess it is the feeling of coldness that makes a hot latte that much better. I don’t really mind the snow as long as I don’t have to drive. Last year I remember walking down University Avenue from my hotel on Bay Street to the Convention Centre and seeing people trying to stay warm by wrapping themselves up with scarves and mittens. Most people looked as if they wished to be somewhere warmer. Yet, there was I, my coffee in one hand, and my iPod in the other enjoying the morning commute to the conference. I remember at some point, I actually stopped and took some pictures of the CN Tower with snowflakes in the background. People must have thought I was a crazy tourist and that this was the first time in my life that I had seen snow. Call me crazy, I cannot wait to go back there and experience a real Canadian winter again!
Note: I am also going to TRY ice skating on the Rideau Canal again this year. Last year, I must have fallen down more than 20 times. Let’s see if I am getting any better this year.
