Richmond has been active in the energy industry for over 25 years. His work experience has included a focus on energy operations, engineering, major projects, technology research, risk management, market evaluations, business development, environmental affairs, community stewardship and energy infrastructure development in North America and around the world. In his current role as Executive Director, Infrastructure & Sustainability with TransGas he is focused on identifying, assessing, and implementing responsible and sustainable business growth opportunities. He is also active as an independent consultant conducting research and strategic business assessments.

He holds a Dipl.Tech from SIASTT, a B.Eng. from Lakehead University , and an MBA (EX-MC) from Royal Roads University . He also holds designations as a Professional Engineer ( P.Eng.), Project Management Professional (PMP), and Certified Management Consultant (CMC). In 2005 Dick was the silver medal award recipient on the CMC-Canada national exam honour role.

He is an experienced researcher and corporate business leader with a strong desire to link theory and business practice allowing each to fully inform and strengthen the other. In 2006 he presented a sustainability and business paper based on his MBA thesis at the United Nations Global Compact, Case Weatherhead, Academy of Management "Business as an Agent for World Benefit" Global Forum. He continues to research and write on the topic of sustainability and business.

Richmond lives and works in Regina, SK. His personal teaching philosophy is to "stimulate and engage learners to be their very best by relating theory to relevant practice and experience".
