Dale Christenson, BA, PMP

Dale Christenson is currently the Senior Advisor, Project Management Centre of Excellence for the Province of British Columbia. Before this he was the Acting Assistant Deputy Minister of the Business Transformation and Learning Services Division as well as the Leadership Centre of BC. Prior to assuming this position, Dale worked as the Director of Project Management for the Ministry of Human Resources. Dale held a number of management positions in the Criminal Justice Branch and after 12 years left to pursue the responsibilities of Policy Analyst in the Chief Information Office, where he also assumed the role of Project Director, e-BC Strategy and Director of the newly formed Results Management office.

Dale has completed a Doctorate in Project Management from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University in Australia. Dale also holds undergraduate and graduate degrees, diplomas and certificates in Criminology, Counselling Psychology and Project Management. Dale also chairs the cross-government’s Project Management Community of Practice.

Dale’s favourite aspects of working in government are: the challenges of integrating new programs and project management methodologies across government.

Dale also teaches in graduate studies for Athabasca University. Dale serves on the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Government Special Interest Group as the co-chair and as well as President on his local PMI chapter in Victoria British Columbia.
